105.5 The Moonlight Drive — Salem’s indie radio station is calling on listeners to take part in a one-night-only experiment. At 8 p.m. sharp, tune your car stereo to 105.5 The Moon, roll down the windows, and cruise downtown Salem as a special hour of live programming unfolds. It’s part trust exercise, part radio stunt, and part community happening meant to fill the streets with sound and connection. Art Fair Plant Sale — Shop perennials, houseplants, succulents, herbs, natives, and more, all carefully curated for fall planting. This annual sale by Mission Street Parks Conservancy features unusual finds from local specialty nurseries, with proceeds supporting the preservation and beautification of Bush’s Pasture Park. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day and the diverse cultures of Oregon’s Hispanic and Latino communities with live music, dancing, and free activities, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 12 at the Oregon State Capitol. 

Pentacle Theatre presents the Jo Dodge Acting Workshop — Join skilled director and actress Jo Dodge in a fun, hands-on 11-week theater workshop exploring the human spirit. Students participate in improvisation and scene work in a safe, supportive and non-competitive environment. The focus is on individual self-development. This workshop is for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced performers. You must be 18 or older to attend classes. Hunt for Treasure. More than 100 handmade glass marbles will be hidden throughout Salem during The Great Marble Hunt, a citywide search for tiny treasures. Author Talk: Stephanie Rose will discuss her new book, I Wish I Was A Vampire. Stephanie Rose is a disabled, neurodivergent, and queer horror writer and editor who finds comfort in the dark corners of storytelling. She is the author of Hiding Lies, Small Town Slasher, and Roadkill Revolution Tour, and serves as editor of the Twisted Tales to Tell in the Night anthology series. A lifelong Halloween devotee and unapologetic house goblin, she thrives on horror, true crime, and the delicious unease of the macabre. Music, especially dance and karaoke, keeps her heart beating just long enough to write another story.
