Learn about sustainability & waste reduction in free 6-week training

Are you passionate about sustainability? Want to take a stand on waste reduction? Looking for an action-oriented activity for eco-education? Join the Marion Resourcers Movement (MRM), a six-week training program designed to develop community environmental stewards.

Formerly Master Recycler training, MRM aims to educate about sustainable materials management while supporting community sustainability efforts aimed at local waste reduction.

Each week, participants will learn about specific waste reduction issues facing Marion County residents and work together to imagine and develop tailored solutions for our communities. Topics range from curbside recycling and repair culture to the lifecycle of “stuff,” green economy, food waste reduction and more.

The program takes place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 25 to May 30, at the Salem YMCA, 685 Court St NE. The deadline to submit your application is 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19. Click here to sign up.
