Shop a variety of handcrafted wares—nearly 1,700—created by the volunteer artists of Willamette Art Center during Empty Bowls.
For the past year, crafters, artisans and community members have been hard at work on an almost continual creation schedule. These dedicated volunteers have been busy throwing, building, firing, glazing, pricing and more.
“The sale is a great opportunity to help feed those in need and get an early start on holiday shopping,” Margrethe Gregg, chair of the planning committee, said. “Some incredible potters with decades of experience have donated their work, and it’s really exciting to see all the beautiful pottery coming in for the sale.”
The sale has also grown beyond just bowls and now includes mugs and cups, dishes, vases, planters, pitchers, platters and other handmade pottery, plus wood turnings, too. In addition to the sale, there will also be demonstrations of wheel throwing and wood turning by volunteers of Willamette Art Center and the Willamette Valley Woodturners.
Funds raised by this annual event help feed the hungry in our community through Marion-Polk Food Share (MPFS).
