Salem’s run clubs make it easy to start—or restart—a healthy habit this spring.
Across Salem, a growing network of running clubs is helping people lace up, head outside, and find community along the way.
“There’s been a significant resurgence in running event participation since pre-COVID,” said Susan Gallagher, owner of Gallagher Fitness Resources. “Plus, the addition of new running clubs in the area—and all the clubs working together—is great for the health and wellness of the community.”
Whether you’re chasing a new personal record or simply looking for a reason to get outside, Salem’s running community offers a welcoming place to begin.

Slow Runners of Salem
Built for runners who prefer a relaxed pace, this club keeps things social and fun, sometimes literally, like their Halloween “hot dog run,” where participants dressed as hot dogs and they grilled up some hot dogs afterward.
