Celebrate Pride with these events —

Confluence, the Willamette Valley LGBT Chorus, presents Happiness 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, at First Congregational ICC Church, 700 Marion St NE. Confluence is a diverse group of people who come together to celebrate and honor diversity through music. The chorus strives to celebrate and affirm the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals. Cost: $12 to $18. Info & Tickets: confluencelgbtchorus.org​​


Salem Pride is a celebration of diversity and inclusion from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11 in downtown Salem (Court & State Streets between Liberty & Commercial Streets.) The free event starts with yoga at 10 a.m. followed by a Pride march, live performances and more. Click here for more details.


An icon of queer cinema returns to the big screen as Salem Cinema presents “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” 8 p.m. June 10, 11 and 12. f $4 from every ticket will be donated to The Trevor Project, an organization providing crisis support, advocacy and life-saving services to LGBTQ youth. Salem Public Library celebrates a Summer of Pride with a monthly LGBTQ+ Reading & Discussion Group. Explore LGBTQIA+ history, human rights, and what the future looks like for the queer and trans communities through a series of free community conversations. Staff will act as facilitators and work to establish a respectful and supportive space for everyone to contribute their thoughts, share questions and explore the ideas from the readings and videos. Topics include —

  • June 18: History of Pride
  • July 16: Trans Rights Are Human Rights
  • August 20: Queer Futures

Attendees are asked to prepare for the discussions by reading or watching at least one entry from a suggested resources list for each month.
