October 28

Tales of Terror — Hear classic horror stories read by Enlightened Theatrics actors 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 28 at Loucks Auditorium at Salem Public Library. Intended for mature audiences. Cost: Free. First come, first seated

Oh the antici……..pation! The Rocky Horror Picture Show returns! This campy classic about a newly-engaged couple that have a breakdown in an isolated area and must seek shelter at the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-n-Furter is a Halloween tradition. Starring Tim Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter – A Scientist, Susan Sarandon as Janet Weiss – A Heroine and Barry Bostwick as Brad Majors – A Hero, plus many more! The film is rated R by the Motion Picture Association. Under 17 requires an accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them. Note: Outside props are NOT permitted.

Halloween Costume Crawl & Window Parades — Volunteers of all ages are invited to dress up and bring a little pageantry and fun to residents living in care facilities as part of the Halloween Costume Crawl & Window Parades. The three-day celebration continues Friday, October 28 —
1 p.m. at Tierra Rose Care Center, 4254 Weathers St. NE
3 p.m. at Windsor Health & Rehabilitation Center, 820 Cottage St. NE

The Best Goose Bar hosts Flash Friday with $50 Trick or Treat Tattoos by Alyssa Ashley tattoos available all day.

October 29

There will be a Slightly Spooky Family Storytime featuring preschool and early elementary-friendly storytime, followed by a costume parade 10:15 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29 in Loucks Auditorium at Salem Public Library.

Drop-in to explore the Teen Advisory Boad’s Games Gone Wild Haunted House 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 29, in Anderson Rooms A&B at Salem Public Library. Scare level is elementary age; anyone is welcome.

Break out your creativity at the Halloween Craft Party. Elementary-aged youth are invited to drop in with their grownups to create Halloween-themed crafts 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 29 in Children’s Corner at Salem Public Library.

Roth’s Fresh Markets hosts a Jumbo Cupcake Decorating event 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 29. Kids will receive a jumbo cupcake and all the supplies to decorate for $2 per cupcake.

Thrill the World returns to bring a horde of zombies to the streets of Salem outside Taproot Lounge & Cafe at 356 State St. to dance the Thriller as part of a world record-breaking event. Watch and cheer it on at 3 p.m.sharp on Saturday, Oct. 29.

🎃 Downtown Trick or Treating returns 👻 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 29

Stop by Ernie & Gray, 329 State St, between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. to turn your boo-tiful memories into keepsakes with Salem-based photographer James O’Shea’s Polaroid Portrait Pop-Up. Wear your best costume! Pets are welcome too! Portraits are $10 each, or two for $15. Matting and framing will also be available for purchase, while supplies last.

Radar Toys in Salem will host a free, family-friendly Halloween event with cosplayers, candy, free comics and artists. Special guest comic artist Randy Emberlin will be in attendance. Guests of all ages are more than welcome to come in costume and enter the prize giveaway. The fun takes place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 29 at 1440 Lancaster Dr. NE

Visit the Scarousel Bash where guests can enjoy enjoy a variety of free activities or upgrade their experience with a Scarousel Pass for carousel rides, food and more. The fun takes place 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at Salem’s Riverfront Carousel.

Salem Police Department hosts the annual Halloween Dress Rehearsal safety event 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at 333 Division St NE. Children and their parents are invited to attend in costume to “rehearse” being safe for Halloween night. Officers will help children understand the importance of traffic and pedestrian safety, include visibility and costume safety.There will also be kids activities.

Trick or Treat @ the 45th Parallel Building 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 29, where there will be treats, crafts, a selfie booth and more.

Archive Coffee & Bar, 102 Liberty St NE #120, are hosting a villains-themed Halloween party 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday, October 29. Costumes are encouraged.

Check out the Boo Bash happening at The Best Goose Bar inside Fork Forty Food Hall starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, October 29, where there will be a costume contest, multiple prizes, dancing, drinks, jello shots and more.

Taproot Lounge & Cafe hosts Halloween Mischief beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 29. Featuring beats by DJ King, dancing, drink specials and more. Costumes are required, judging begins at 9 p.m. and a $100 cash prize will be awarded at midnight (must be present to win).

The JFK Ghoulish Halloween Ball begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at The Yard Food Park. Eugene Darlings Professor Fate kicks things off. Costumes are encouraged. Cost is $13 in advance; $15 at the door.

Check out the B2 Halloween Party 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at B2 Taphouse, 1170 Boone Rd SE, for an adult and kid costume contest, raffles, cocktail specials, photo booth, music by DJ Cowley, and more.

The Halloween Party at Silver Spur, 1821 Silverton Rd NE, starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct 29 and features a costume contest with case prizes, plus Halloween drinks and more.

There’s an 80s Prom Night Halloween Party starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at Tsunami Taproom, 4336 Commercial St SE #150, that includes a Boneyard Brewing Tap Takeover, raffles, prizes and more.

Heroes Tap House Bar & Grill, 4555 Liberty Rd S, hosts a Halloween Party featuring trivia, best costume prizes, a treasure hunt and Halloween food, 7 p.m. Saturday, October 29

Take in a night of music at the Code Red Halloween Bash 8 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at South Liberty Bar, 4682 Liberty Rd S. Costumes encouraged.

There’s a Halloween Show featuring Bazooka Sharkz, Chainbound, The Doug Furys, Drednoks, and Cheap Sk8 8 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at Champions Bar and Grill

The Pink Elephant Tavern, 115 Lancaster Dr SE, hosts a Halloween Party with costumes, games, prizes, specialty drinks, spooky beats and more 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct 29. Hosted by DJ Mack!e and featuring special performances by Dj GitDOWN, Chesga Jackson, Truu Story and Prymetyme. Arrive early to avoid a line at the door.

October 30

In the spirit of Halloween, Salsa Sunday will have a spooky twist: Addam’s Family Theme 6:15 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Fork Forty Food Hall, so costume up for teh special occassion. $5 at the door includes lessons with Salem Rueda De Casino (SRC Salsa).

Halloween Re-Engineered takes place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 30 at Gilbert House Children’s Museum, 116 Marion St NE, where kids will start their adventure with candy gathering from Gismo Trick or Treat. There’s a Halloween Bash happening 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at BeeHive Station Food Pod, 1510 Fabry Rd SE, featuring music by Roundhouse Band. Come dressed up for trick-or-treating!

Butterfly Portrait Studio & The Selfie Stop host The Halloween Bash on October 30 at 2061 State St, featuring games, a free fall photo booth and a variety of vendorsThere will also be a Trunk-or-Treat in the State Farm neighboring parking lot from 4 to 6 p.m.

Halloween Eve Spooktacular — take in a frightfully fun evening of live music and comedy featuring music by the ever-funky Sweet N’ Juicy, and special comedic performances by the likes of Death, PC Andrew Dice Clay, Grown-Up Calvin, and more. Wear your best costume and you may just SLAY the competition and win prizes. Covid policy applies.

Journeys Anniversary & Halloween Psychic Fair — Readers, intuitives, psychics, healers, numerologists, artists and clarity specialists offer the opportunity for remembrance, reflection and more. The practitioners and staff will all be in costume for this event, so go in costume and help celebrate. There will be a costume contest, as well as refreshments. This event takes place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct 30 at Journeys A Center for Your Soul. No cost to attend; services vary in price.

October 31

Trunk or Treat 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 31 at BlondZee’s Guest House, 4850 Portland Rd NE, thanks to the Camaro Club of Oregon, lone wolves and any car with a trunk full of candy.

Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat — Local businesses, nonprofits, and individuals, aka “Candy Crew,” will pass out candy and goodies to kiddos in their vehicles. Each car will drive through a route on the site to see all the fun booths and decorations. This event is first come, first served. Drive-thru only. Entrance on 14th Street. Guests will remain in their vehicles as they drive through the site.

Trick-or-Treat at Deepwood Museum & Gardens, 1116 Mission St SE. Bring your little ones to Deepwood for trick-or-treating at the Front Door of the Museum Home between 2 and 5 p.m. Monday, October 31. They will have 200 treat bags designed for children 10 and younger. Among other fun items, the treat bags will feature a pumpkin sugar cookie courtesy of Roth’s Fresh Markets. This event is free to the public.

Trunk or Treat beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Salem, 5090 Center St NE.

Trick or Treat your way through Salem Center 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 31 where there will be goodie bags, games, photos, and a bouncy house in lower south building.

Visit Archive Coffee & Bar, 102 Liberty St NE #120, for Halloween Proper costumes, themed cocktails and music 4 to 10 p.m. Monday, October 31. Costumes are encouraged.

The Return of the Hauntcert — The unearthly ensembles and creepy choirs of Willamette’s Music department, comes back from the dead to welcome you into the concert hall with a collaboration of the creepy, spooky and kooky music of Hallowe’en, Dia de Los Muertos, and other end-of-October celebrations. Costumes are encouraged for this family-friendly event.

Blacklisted and Blacktop Misfits present a Truck or Treat event for the whole family beginning at 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Warpaint International, 3026 Portland Road NE. Wear your costume and come see cool, decorated cars.

Prestige Orchard Heights is hosting a Halloween Safehouse 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 31, at 695 Orchard Heights Rd NW, where there will be games, candy, food vendors, a haunted house and more.
