It’s a hot ticket item on many a local menu, and the (sometimes) 30-person-long line at EZ Orchards Shortcake Stand is a rite of passage. Additionally, Word of Mouth Bistro is serving up strawberries from Nanneman Farms and sweet double cream on biscuits. (It’s their second favorite biscuit team, second only to their biscuits and house sausage gravy.)
Get Local Strawberries
Salem Saturday Market is sure to have local strawberries from one of their local farm vendors. The market is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at 865 Marion St NE.
Berries are also often available at Salem Public Market, 1240 Rural Ave SE, which is open 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays year-round.
