In short story or personal essay form, explore how questions of identity have impacted you. Think broadly about moments, people, and situations that have helped you develop a sense of who you are and where you fit in the world. Tell a specific story, reflect on a larger situation, or look for patterns in a series of events or encounters that have taught you about your personal identity.
Stories should be 200-1,000 words. Entries are accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, February 17.
Entries can be completed online through a Google Form. Alternate entry options include sending by email to library@cityofsalem.net along with your name, phone number, and the title of the story.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each of two categories: teen (grades 6-12) and adult (age 18+). Prizes are:
- 1st place - $50
- 2nd place - $30
- 3rd place - $20
First-place entries will be published in an upcoming issue of Press Play Salem. First through third -place entries will be published on the Press Play Salem website.
