The Willamette Master Chorus presents a "Music from Latin America"
featuring the Freddy Vilches Ensemble directed by Freddy Vilches from Portland, OR
the Woodburn High School Mariachi Band directed by Nadia Maksimov
the Woodburn High School Chamber Choir directed by Luis Rivera
the Willamette Master Chorus directed by Dr. Paul Klemme
and high school students from Salem/Keizer School District
Music will include choral music by Mexican Renaissance Era composers such as Juan Gutierrez de Padilla and Francisco Lopez y Capillas.
The "Misa Criolla" by Ariel Ramirez will be performed and directed by Dr. Wallace Long from Willamette University in Salem
The Abya Yala Choral Suite is a new composition by Freddy Vilches. The Suite includes Spanish texts by poets from Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Chile and Guatemala.
Performance dates are:
March 9 at 3:00 p.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Music Center’s Hudson Hall at Willamette University in Salem, OR
