Ricochet Wine Company was founded in 2018 by Erich Berg. Besides his experiences in Chicago’s fine-dining scene and as a high school English teacher, Berg has an impressive winemaking resume including harvests at Domaine Serene, Illahe, and Day Wines. To ricochet is to bounce back, not always in a predictable direction. But, there’s a bounce off a wall, figuratively or otherwise. Life is full of metaphoric ricochets. Ricochet Wine Company has two goals: to make killer, authentic, sophisticated, and honest wines that are accessible to a wide spectrum of folks and to give back to the community. In fact, Ricochet donating 5% of sales to local and regional non-profit organizations that help people bounce back from difficult situations. Wine is community, after all.
