Poetry and visual art combine in Double Takes, the Mid-Valley Poetry Society’s 2025 weekly planner, which contains a poem and an accompanying painting, photograph, or drawing for every month. Hear poems by Colette Tennant, David Goodrum, Dina Triest, Eleanor Berry, Jade Rosina McCutcheon, Jamye Sue, Jess Kolman, Marilyn Johnston, Mike Shuler, Sarah Rohrs, Savannah Busby, and Steve Slemenda, and see artworks by Aimee O’Will, Barbara Moore, Barbara Stebbins-Boaz, Joel Zak, John Van Dreal, and Paul Toews, as well as by several of the poets. Copies of Double Takes can be purchased at the reading.

For the month of December the Salem Poetry Project will meet at Marco Polo Global Restaurant. The restaurant’s address is 300 Liberty St SE, Salem and the reading will be in the banquet room.

Each week the Salem Poetry Project presents a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: three poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow. For more information contact Marc Janssen at mrcjanssen@msn.com.
