Salem International Folk Dancers is hosting a free Community Open House and Folk Dance Workshop on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Instructor Joan Bennett will provide an overview of the joy, history, and benefits of folk dancing followed by an hour of free dance instruction designed for beginners. All are welcome, including families, students, and older adults. No partner or dance experience is necessary. Comfortable clothing is encouraged and smooth-soled or dance shoes are recommended. Light refreshments will be provided.

About Salem International Folk Dancers
The Salem International Folk Dancers (SIFD) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has brought recreational dance to the greater Salem community for more than 75 years. International folk dancers teach, perform, and preserve the music and dances of different cultures from around the world. The goal is to build community, get good exercise, and have fun.
SIFD meets every Wednesday night at the VFW in Salem, located at 630 Hood Street NE. Classes are $5 and the first class is free. SIFD will be performing at the World Beat Festival at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
