Elsinore celebrates 97 with the ultimate 80s party on May 24

The Elsinore Theatre is celebrating its 97th Anniversary with a benefit concert featuring a fab night of live music from 80’s dance band Radical Revolution plus games, trivia, a costume contest and more.

“We are celebrating 97 years in existence,” said Executive Director Tom Fohn. “That’s a big deal. We’re proud to be seen as a hub for entertainment in this city. Sold-out shows used to be a rarity, but they are becoming more commonplace. This points to the fact that Salem is changing, growing…and us along with them. We are strong, but we have goals for growth that rely on community support.”

“In the past, the community rallied to save our building. From that, we’ve created an amazing venue. We’re at a place where we can give back to Salem, with nonprofit rates and special events such as our Free Film Series for Adults Experiencing Developmental Disabilities, but our fundraiser is an opportunity to contribute to and support our bigger, loftier, long-term goals.”

Radical Revolution is a 6-piece 80’s tribute band packing a huge variety of 80’s hits from all your favorites (you know, Whitney Houston, Rick Springfield, Madonna, A-Ha, Def Leppard, Go-Go’s, Kenny Loggins, Erasure and more, way more). Featuring both female and male lead vocals, fat keyboards, blistering guitars, thumping bass, and big 80’s drums, the band will keep you dancing from start to finish with their high-energy show and good times vibe.

Wear your favorite 80’s attire to look the part and for a chance to win. You know you wanna win.

This fundraising celebration also includes an online auction that opens May 17 and raffle for a chance to win a $500 gift card to Salishan Coastal Lodge.

The party begins 6 p.m. (live music starts at 7) Wednesday, May 24 at Elsinore Theatre, 170 High St SE. Tickets are $50 and funds raised support the ongoing support of this historic theatre and their community presence. Get yours at www.elsinoretheatre.com
