Things to know:
- Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and open auditions for all roles begin promptly at 1 p.m. Please be on time and plan to stay through 5 p.m.
- Please arrive early to fill out an audition form. We encourage you to download the form at PentacleTheatre.org/auditions and complete it in advance. Please write clearly, especially your contact information. Headshots and resumes are not required but are always appreciated.
- Bring your calendar and provide a complete list of your conflicts through October 25, 2025. If you have a conflict with the audition date, please contact the director.

Rehearsals:
- Generally, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, beginning in May.
- The director will set weekend rehearsals and work sessions as needed. Please keep this in mind when providing your list of conflicts.
- Rehearsals will be scheduled to make the best use of everyone’s time. Cast members are required to attend every rehearsal once A Comedy of Tenors moves into the theatre. If you have questions about rehearsals, please contact the director.
The story:
- One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It's 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century - as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife, Maria, from causing runaway chaos. Prepare for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight.
The characters: Casting actors able to play the following roles, genders:
- Henry Saunders - male, mid-late 50s, any ethnicity - Saunders is a major show business producer. This concert is his biggest production to date ,and if it fails, he stands to lose not all his money but with it, his reputation, forever.
- Max- male, 30s, any ethnicity- Rising American opera singer and former assistant to Saunders. He was Saunders' assistant for many years, but is a fine singer and has the potential for an international career. He is married to Saunders' daughter Maggie, who is in the U.S.A, awaiting the birth of their first child..
- Tito Merelli- male, 50s, Italian - Tito is one of Italy's most famous opera singers. Regal in appearance, fiery in nature, insecure and insanely jealous. He is a diva, hugely talented and charismatic,
- Beppo - male, 50s, Italian - A hotel bellhop - joyous, full of life, and down to earth. An unpolished jewel of a tenor.
- Maria Merelli - Female, 40s to early 50s, Italian. Wife to one of Italy's most famous opera singers. Larger than life, in her personality and her explosive temper. Fiercely loyal.
- Mimi Merelli- female, age 25 -Incurably romantic, wide-eyed modem girl (1936) who hopes to make it in showbiz as an actress. She is in a relationship with Carlo Nucci, another tenor
- Carlo Nucci-Male, late 20s - An incredibly popular tenor. In love with Mimi.
- Tatiana Racon - female, late 50s - Russian - Famous Russian opera singer. A very intense and passionate woman
