Attendance at one of two pre-application meetings (Oct 8 or Oct 10) required to apply.
The City of Salem is accepting grant proposals from organizations hosting or wanting to host historic, cultural, and tourism-related events in Salem.
There are two event grant opportunities. Larger events hosted by IRS-recognized 501(c) nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant of up to $10,000. Non-501(c) organizations are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $2,000. The grants are reimbursement grants — funds will be issued/reimbursed once a final report with receipts is submitted. All events must take place within Salem city limits, be open to the public, and occur between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
The grants are funded by the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT), also known as a hotel tax, and provides marketing and promotion support for various historic and cultural facilities and events in Salem.
Attendance at a pre-application meeting, which will be held via Zoom, is a requirement of the application. The meetings take place 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2024, and 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024. You only need to attend one meeting to apply. To request a meeting link, email cneider@cityofsalem.net or kskelly@cityofsalem.net.
The grant application will be available online beginning October 10, 2024, at Grants for Promotion of Culture and Tourism | Salem, Oregon (cityofsalem.net). Applications will be due November 18, 2024.
