Save the date August 27 for the inaugural Capitol Jam Community Music Festival.
The free, all-ages welcome music event will take place from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Gerry Frank | Salem Rotary Amphitheater in downtown Salem. It aims to celebrate Salem’s passion for the arts and music while bringing joy and inspiration to the community.
“Our vision is to showcase our new amphitheater and Riverfront Park as a destination venue for music, fun and family entertainment,” said Kathleen Swarm, City of Salem’s Amphitheater Manager, in a press release.
Event co-headliners include Portland bands The Shivas and blues legend Lloyd Jones. Additional featured performers include Jacquie Roar; alt-pop singer/songwriter Erin Westfall; and hip-hop and soul artist Rich McCloud — from Salem — plus Portland rock duo Grimiss. There will also be special performances from the musicians of the RiverCity Rockstar Academy.
