It’s that time of year again: Tips for Tots season is underway, and Salem’s hospitality and arts community is rallying for a good cause.
The fun kicks off on December 2 with a benefit screening of the cult favorite Cocaine Crabs From Outer Space, hosted by filmmaker Chuck McGee at Salem Cinema. The show begins at 8:30 p.m. Each ticket includes an entry into a raffle packed with prizes from local businesses, and one of the film’s stars, Kat, will be on hand after donating her tips from The Best Goose from earlier that evening. On December 6, the TR Melton Memorial Race for the Rest of Us returns to f/stop Fitzgerald’s Public House for its seventh year. This “grueling” 0.05-mile dash includes a donut-and-beer break (thanks to Santiam Brewing Co.). Suggested donation is $25, and kids can run, too. A special day-of announcement is promised. The fun begins at 2 p.m.
Then, on December 8, Honey&Co. hosts a rare nighttime Breakfast for Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., donating every dollar from every sale — Yes, you read that correctly. Suggested donation is $30 per plate or two for $50, with a cameo by Julia Goolia.
Times are tight, and every bit of support helps. Join in if you can.
