Hey, green thumb! Shop for a variety of hard-to-find Oregon native and companion plants to add to your garden, plus pottery and botanical art, at Deepwood Museum & Garden's annual plant sale fundraiser on March 21 and 22. The sale will take place in a large tent space located at their 12th and Lee parking lot.
In addition to providing an opportunity to shop, this event also aims to help people learn more about native species. Experts will be available to answer questions about plants you are interested in purchasing, those you already own, or species we growing at Deepwood.
There will also be free guided tours of the trails and gardens on both days. Nature Trail tours, where you can see the beautiful Erythronium (Fawn Lilies), will take place at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Tours of the historic Formal Gardens led by the Lord & Schryver Conservancy will take place at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The sale will be held rain or shine and a portion of all proceeds benefit the care and preservation of Deepwood, which is an 1894 Queen Anne Victorian house located at Yew Park on the corner of Mission and 12th. The living museum is owned by the City of Salem and managed by the Friends of Deepwood, an educational nonprofit.
