Attend our Family Fun Fridays throughout August for hands-on experiences that educate and bring the history of our region to life!
Cost: $15/adults; $11/youth 6-7; Berry Pass holders and 5 & under free
*Adult admission required. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Kalapuya
August 7 and August 21, 2026
10:15 am – 11:45 am
The Kalapuya people have lived in the Willamette Valley since time immemorial. Children will engage in hands-on activities exploring seasonal lifeways. They will investigate how the Kalapuya community was impacted by waves of Euro-American explorers, fur trappers, missionaries, and Oregon Trail immigrants.

Archaeology: More Than Rocks!
August 14 and August 28, 2026
10:15 am – 11:45 am
Families will learn that how they discover something is just as critical as what they uncover. They are taught the importance of stewarding both the mystery and the story that a dig site offers.

• Learn skills for unearthing artifacts and handling them responsibly
• Get your hands “dirty” using tools to explore a dig box
• Participate in a group exercise where they rotate responsibilities and make collective decisions
• Present findings to the rest of the class and conduct your own Q&A
